Why do They Hate us?

A message for any black person who has felt the sting of RACISM:

Remember how you felt after watching Roots for the first time? Did you want to go out and smack a white person? I did. I can feel the anger I felt then. It is the same anger I have this morning.

After reading and hearing about the young black woman in West Virginia I wanted to ride out and smack the S out of the first white person I saw. But, I decided to chill. Reflect. Think about America, and its continued destruction at the hands of those who refuse to adhere to the hatred within their hearts.

If you know me you know that I detest this place on so many levels so keeping my cool is a challenge when we are dehumanized by white haters and even when we do it to ourselves.

Of course those six white evil-doers are not reflective of all white people in the United States - but one thing is for sure: these trailer park folk’s mentality is representative of the deep-seated hatred some white folk have toward blacks. And, you best believe that there are numerous white men and women who go to church with you, eat with you, and watch sports with you that have seeds of hatred in their souls, but in some way are able to contain it. I commend them!

What have WE done to deserve this level of hatred? I can't think of anything. We have been brutalized by THIER oppressive system since day one; and they hate us? That is crazy to me. Even those "liberal" white folk disliked us at one time. How could they not? We are demonized from left to right.

Anyway, I stop here. I see a white man. I want to slap the S out of him, but I know he is more than likely innocent. He is not responsible for his ancestors’ evils. Or is he? How many white people do you know who stand up for blacks? On a national or local level? How many? I ask these questions because if the white man I wanted to slap has not done anything to rectify/eliminate the hatred, he is in fact GUILTY just like his ancestors.

Tell me if I am wrong! If I am wrong someone help me understand.

So you black, I mean back now? A couple of weeks ago you didn't believe that we should be supporting a black man for doing something wrong (Michael Vick & others). When really, the issue was that society is more concerned that we are black than the actual crime committed. Now you get the picture? It's in black and white. Always will be.

Muata Responds to AJ:

I never stopped being black. "Get the picture". I have been seeing things from a black man's perspective for years. We grew-up in a racist city. We went to racist schools in Thomasville, NC. I even went to a university that knowningly and unknowingly supported racist beliefs and attitudes. The picture has been in my vision for years. I just select not to dismiss the wrongs of blacks. I will no longer close my eyes to the idiots we have in our community/race. I will always always place a mirror in front of me and my fellow black folk. We must!

I don't support Vick (none of us should), and never will. He was wrong, and until we stand-up for the wrongs of our people we will not move forward. Wrong is wrong. PERIOD. We must pull our own on the carpet when they do something stupid or anything to embarrass those who fought for us to be citizens of this immoral country. We must hold each others feet to the fire, if we don't we will continue to self-destruct. Vick should be a great disappointment for all of us. He is a dummy. A fool who had it all and blew it over a bag of money.

Now let's get back to calling out these white folk who fail to change their hearts, and continue to support a racist society. Let's be on one accord with this crime against humanity. Let's battle the judge that gave a bond to these evil-doers. Let's stay focused here.

And, please don't question my blackness. Please. I have in my own way sacrificed for too many blacks to be questioned about my blackness.

Division is another killer among us!

I bet you those trailer park pieces of crap get less time for their crime than Vick will get! I told you white america holds dogs, (as you say, "America's Pet") in higher regard than black women!! Let me know when they finally get around to prosecuting those
fools and please let me know how much t.v. coverage they get!! (in comparison to Vick) I dont watch
the news!!

Thanks for keeping us informed 3!!

I am so thankful we are in an uproar. That means we are concerned. I am also thankful that my commentaries are doing their job. At least I think they are working.

We are doing the right thing now: Getting fired up at injustice and wrongness. But, no need to send venom to me. Questioning my allegiance to blackness is the wrong move. The wrong move. Insinuating that I am not aware that America don't value black women is the wrong move.

Actually, this type of frustration directed at me is the wrong move. I should feel insulted, but I don't. I know this crime committed by these white haters is what has us upset.

Again, don't lose focus here. Let's stay together on this issue. You can have objection to my stance on things, but today is the WRONG time to do so.

AJ Responds to Muata:

I know you never stopped being black and I didn't mean to make light of this situation. I'm also not making excuses for or supporting what Vick did. I'm just trying to get you to understand my point that we have to recognize the injustices no matter what form or forum. Vick received the treatment he did because of his color and position. A black man otherwise doing good for himself, committed a crime. Was the treatment that he received befitting of the crime? Jena 6 - is the punishment befitting of the crime? I could go on and on.

Racism is alive and thriving. We cannot let Society and The System take advantage of situations to keep us all down one by one. True we too must be conscious of our actions and not commit foolish actions to put us in the position to be made examples of. We have to take responsibility for actions. But the law is supposed to protect us in all situations - all of us- no matter our skin color. It's just not happening. There are separate punishments and press for us especially when the crime is against a white person or things that white people love or even just like (more than black people).

EJ Responds to Muata:

I have a problem with what you just stated. How is it that you don't support Vick but you support the kids in Jena? The kids were still wrong for jumping on the white kid. Vick was wrong for dog fighting. We dont back what they did but we support them because
they face a system now that is not just when it comes to our people. Explain how you support one cause but not the other.

Muata Responds to EJ:

Lord Have Mercy. Please. I don't support Michael Vick and NEVER will. Due to my personal convictions and beliefs he was dead wrong to be involved in such a despicable crime. Wrong.

Jena 6: These kids stood for something. They were/are battling an injustice. Are you kidding me? Michael Vick is damn fool, and you know it. He does not stand for anything. Never has. When was he ever involved with youth? The community? Never! I have admitted time and time again that the system is against us, but what I will NEVER do again is neglect to call a spade a spade. Michael Vick is a damn SPADE.

The Jena 6 said no to a wrong, while Negro-azz Michael Vick decided to disrespect life and tarnish his name. IDIOT! Yes, a dogs life. I will in no way devalue an innocent dogs life to support a man who does not stand for anything. He is a poster child for DUMMY.

Jena 6 will go down in history as young men who got fed-up and decided to take matters into their own hands.

Now, stop coming at me like I am the enemy. Send a damn letter to the West Virginia DA. I can't believe we would rather go back and forth over this, and forget the REAL issue: A black female was violently disrespected by 6 white people who evidently HATE black people. That's the issue. Let's fight them.

By the way, I agree with everything Angie said. Everything. Now, we are on the same page so act like it! Stop fighting, you intelligent BLACKS!! I am almost afraid to put this correspondence on my blog. Why? White people will again witness our DIVISION.

LS Responds to EJ and AJ:

If a dog in Kansas attacks a child it has nothing to do with Vick fighting dogs in VA.

He isnt the first or last - but what the hell kind of arguement is that? He IS GOING TO JAIL. He earned it. He deserves more time than he will get.

But this still shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Jenna 6. It's not even close. Vick contemplated his crime. These kids responded to hatred. Big difference. And I would not encourage anyone to compare them because it takes away from the Jenna 6 story.

Muata Responds with FRUSTRATION to EJ and AJ:

LOOK. Can't y'all see we are saying the same thing? So, one of you educated blacks back the H down. Humble yourself. Stop grandstanding. ALL the points are valid and on point. Not one of you has acknowledged that we are creating a fight within, and not with the enemy. Now, I am getting exiting this conversation. Blacks...................

AJ Responds to LS:

Are you kidding? The same dogs that Vick has been fighting has killed or maimed how many innocent people / children? Look at the last 2 weeks alone. Who's getting punished for these crimes? Vick is not the first or the last person that has been dog fighting. How much jail time will they or have they gotten? Equal punishment for Equal crimes is the point.

Muata's final response to AJ and EJ:

One last thing. I can't believe after about 10 or so emails that a few of you have not referred to the crime that was committed against this young lady. What you have done is attacked a man who publicly blasted the white man who hates. A man who posts all his BLASTS against white people who hate on his blog. A man who does not care about the repercussions from white America, but yet a few of you have yet to BLAST the white racist system in the manner that I have regarding this crime. Instead you have done exactly what the white man wants. You lost focus, and directed your 'support Vick' commentary on me. You should be ashamed of yourself. Michael Vick is old news. He is black man who blew it. The Mychal Bell's of this world are heroes. They are taking a KICKING for the team while Micheal Vick will become a federal snitch. He is a disgrace to every black person walking the earth. The Jena 6 are HEROES. Boys with Nat Turner-like hearts. Michael Vick is a weakling. A coward. Hiding behind his so called bad upbringing. Such a loser!

I am done.

On this blog is where I plan to BRAVELY BLAST the white man who hates for his wrongs over and over again. This is where I will point out the wrongs of the black man who continues to dishonor the black race. Join me!

Reader JS responds to Muata:

Thanks for your commentary and all your efforts! I dont think anyone was trying to blast you brother!

In my humble opinion, being black doesn't mean that we think the same or feel the same way about
issues! No one expects any other race to see things from the same view point, and I certainly don't expect the same from our people.

The points that were attempted to be made was that race matters in our criminal justice system!!
When our brothers and sisters are victims of crimes we run to defend them and rightly so!! When they screw up, some of us run to pick them up and let them know that they are still loved and cared for!
My people don't deserve this conditional love crap!!! After 400 years of suffering, struggling, and surviving by depending on each other, this attitude of he or she is
wrong so they aint my brother no more is hot garbage! That's what a united group of people is supposed to do?

Everyone, especially our brothers and sisters, deserves the opportunity to be forgiven! Even the young lady in Durham who falsely accused the white boys from Duke of raping her!

The chain is only as strong as the
weakest link brother, and you dont get to just throw away the weak ones!!!

With all that said, I am with you brother and I will always be!! Don't let my comments confuse you! I support you and anyone else that is trying to make life
better for others!

Keep doing your thang Muata....

Muata Responds to JS:

I know you and my boys are with me. However, I get frustrated when people I know especially my boys get confused about where I stand. Also, you and everyone reading should know that I perfectly understand the racially induced complexities of justice in America.

I just don't have compassion for adults who do stupid things to destroy their lives, black or white. This includes me. I have said this before: "If I get arrested for something STUPID leave me at the jail." This is what my grandmother told me she would do: "Black Boy, I am going to leave your behind there!" This speaks volumes on so many levels. We, as a people, need to leave some of us behind if they (no counts) continue to be MAJOR hurdles in our path to progress.

They should be treated as outcast. Outcast who have been given an opportuinty by the PEOPLE to do right, but fail to because of their selfish, egotistical, ignorant, and idiotic decisions that DESTROY the Black Reputation that was established by the Booker T. Washington's of the world!

The Voice of Reason Speaks. Introducing Reader DM:

We can always count on you to spark passionate dialogue and that’s never a bad thing. I try to stay out of e-mail wars but can always learn from other people’s perspective. You, Angie, Eric, Larikus and Pat all have good points. The thing is, be it black or not, we are all individuals and will have our own opinion on things, which too, is a good thing. I myself feel that a lot of people (us) sympathize with MV because he is a black man who was vilified in the press. Some feel that this is another black man that they (the man) just wants to take down. While there are still (and always will be) blatant differences in the way America treats the majority as opposed to minorities, in this case IT IS MY OPINION that MV’s case was so well publicized because of his celebrity. He is not the first person to be jailed for dog fighting. I know of at least 3 cases, from personal/professional experience, one of which involves a white man doing 10 years for the same crime. What’s ironic in all of this is that everyone is outraged about the MV case and thinks that he is being treated unfairly, yet he has never made these statements and has come forward (as he should) like a man to admit to his wrong doing in an effort to get on with his life. Do I think what he did was wrong? Yes. Do I think the punishment fits the crime? No. But I don’t make the laws so I try to abide by them. He could’ve gotten worse in this situation and although I don’t support what he did, I respect the fact that he is accepting responsibility for his actions. It doesn’t mean I’m leaving one of my brother’s behind, it just means I don’t condone his actions.

As far as the Jena 6 kids, yes they were taunted and resorted to violence, but the proposed punishment doesn’t fit the crime. I don’t think that any rational minded person is arguing that. This is totally different from the Vick case. Violence is never the answer but it is clear that they are in an environment where racism is rampant is not overabundant and will need all of the help they can get. I agree with Larikus, the two cases shouldn’t be used for comparison purposes. People are quick to say that white people are being unfair to Vick when: The white man signed him for $130 million contract, The white man gave him endorsement deals, The white man paid for his talents enough money to keep him and his family out of debt for generations. The white man never said: Fight dogs on your property, have your cousin live there and sell drugs so we can bust him and get a search warrant for said property.

My point is; MV had a choice. He chose the wrong one. Now he is paying for it.

Jena 6 kids had no choice in how they were being treated and tried to fight back the best way they knew how and now are being rail roaded.
