No Blast, Journalistic Misrepresentation…DJANGO Unchained

Please Read the original article:

Sadly but typically, Your Black World.net has mislead/misinformed its readers in a SUCCESSFUL attempt to people to its website. Spike Lee DID NOT "blast" the movie. After reading his comments you will agree...I am certain. Thanks, Your Black World.net for doing what other irresponsible media outlets do on the regular: use outlandish baiting tactics to acquire website traffic! Damn. Just present information in its context - and then give people the opportunity to make an informed decision. What the writer’s with Your Black World.net  have also done here is portrayed Spike Lee in a negative light in regards to Django Unchained...Once AGAIN another black person demonized by his/her very own! Shameful...

My response to the article:

I do have plans to go see Django Unchained. However, I am certainly aware that slavery was a horrific condition - and should not be taken lightly. Spike Lee actually did not "BLAST" the movie. The individual who wrote this article/statement used the word, blast as a description of Spike's comment. Lee's words were/are FAR from a blast...the user of the word, blast did a great job of attracting people to his/her piece. I wish I would have not been pulled in by the journalistic tactic. Anyway, Spike Lee has decided to not view the film based on his beliefs of what he thinks the movie will portray. That's his prerogative. And, finally, if the writer of this piece above is black he/she should know better...what he/she has done is created an environment that promotes discord among black people. Shameful...

Football, Men, and Guns...Violent Creations

NBC should replay this message from Bob Costas during the next Super Bowl. Perhaps, the subject matter will get more attention...?

I do know that millions will be watching the Super Bowl, and enjoying the commercials. It would be ideal if
a wealthy person purchased one minute and 30 seconds of commercial time to air the message.

Bob actually stepped out on a limb with his statement...and he did not have to say a word. But, Bob remained true to his character...Speak Out! And, Jason Whitlock, did what he has always done: Get Attention! This time a necessary attention!!

Guns are not killing people, people are - but the easy availability to acquire a handgun and the environmentally instability of mankind/womankind is entirely too prevalent to ignore that people are turning to gun violence to supposedly solve/address their problems, and in this case take life.

Finally, we should not be surprised by the violence connected to this unforgivable crime...Javon Belcher is a PRODUCT of a violent sport. He has been WITH violence for decades - and he ENDED his association with what?

Violence

The Chinese Professor, America's Principles

Posting the commercial (view before reading) does not mean that I support what is detailed throughout/within. I must admit that I understand why those who have viewed/will view it are alarmed. What I don’t understand is why the US government has not done enough to combat the inevitable...pre-President Obama and during his presidency. The federal government –all of it- is responsible!

One line is imprinted in my brain, "turning their back on the principles that made them great.”. The Chinese Professor is referring to the United States of America – and it is quite interesting that I came across the commercial the morning after President Obama defeated Governor Romney.
The morning (November 7, 2012) definitely brought joy. I remain elated. Pleased. I am standing and surviving this week on an enthusiastic adrenaline. That's a good thing. I have yet to nap this week, so I will be a walking caffeine zombie.

Zombie I will be!

Nonetheless, I have been able to –with painful regret- process all the hatred that's in the air...on Facebook...written in blogs…surfacing at the grocery store...lingering in tea shops. The intensity of the detestation stems from a deep-seated infectious racism that has yet to completely evaporate from the soul of the American landscape.

With an African American president elected…Again; America still has the problem that Malcolm X predicted would ultimately suffocate this,

"…turning their back on the principles that made them great.”

Principles are not always right...legitimate...consecrated with equality...forged with fairness. Remember, the devilish Christian Missionaries had ‘principles’.

The so called Founding Fathers of the USA did not view anyone with darker skin tone as equal. They did not treat the darkies –not even their white women- with fairness. Principles...???

Similarly, these are the principles that are based in the same wicked intent of the Pharaoh’s Egypt and the Roman Empire.

The Americans that are so concerned about Judeo-Christian principles are in essence saying and supporting their crooked Constitution:

'We rebuke equality for all thus the reason we are AGAINST Gay Marriage. We rebuke fairness for the poor thus the reason we NEVER mention socio-economic underprivileged people. We rebuke dignity for men/women/children who come to this country for the SAME reasons that our forefathers came thus the reason we are pissed off that the Dream Act will eventually make its way to all the states that makeup the Union.’ We REBUKE what America has become…”
-Descendants of the Founding Fathers

These white men are petrified. They are losing everything that their grandfather’s fathers fought to maintain. I in point of fact understand that feeling...it garners desperation…it eats away at the decency of mankind…it encourages violence.

BUT - I will not accept that their principles are not worthy of changing and/or eradicating…considering what was acquired was forcefully taken without any regard for Humanity.
In their hellacious zeal they ignored what connects us all,

 America will perish.

Reflections from a Blind Man and Demonized Man

Rumbles of thunder, a slight breeze, 45 degrees, and rain...

Exactly what we needed on Election Day. And, I am not using sarcasm. Sarcasm is not my forte!

The weather may not be 'good' for standing in line waiting to honor your civil right. In fact, this is an ideal opportunity to prove that you are fully committed to what assisted you in acquiring your Freedom.

James Farmer, one of the architects, of the infamous Freedom Rides told me…yes, I met him and served as his guide for 48 hours (High Point University, February 1992)…

“Brian Eugene, black people today have no reason not to vote. It does not matter if it is cold, hot, raining, snowing, hailing, lightening, apathy, have a disability, some ill-advised allegiance to a Black Power that does not empower us to hold the government accountable…black people today have no real justification to sit at home on Election Day.”

Rumbles of thunder, a slight breeze, 45 degrees, and rain...

is what I heard this AM after a sleepless night. I could not sleep. Definitely, not surprised! I have not slept well for two years now.

After the second sound of “God at work”, I got up. Pulled the curtains back. Gave Jessie some attention. She so damn needy. Walked into my living room. Grabbed the remote. The Today Show had just come on. I sat there listening and watching the Talking Heads talk. Jessie sniffed around searching for crumbs that may have fell to the floor during my 2AM snack. A few moments later, Mr. Tavis Smiley was front and center on my tube television screen. I was elated to see him among other Talking Heads on this expected remarkable day

James Farmer -among other tidbits of knowledge told me on our memorable day

“Brian Eugene, we black people need to stop discrediting each other. Especially, if a fellow brother or sister has been down in the trenches working on the behalf of black people.”
That’s what came to mind when Tavis began to speak.

Unfortunately, Tavis has been demonized by his very own, Black People. Most of it as a result of his criticism of President Obama’s last four years of leadership. Most of the condemnation is completely unwarranted.  Actually, it has been ass-backward criticism…what man/woman should not be critical of government?

Without a doubt Tavis Smiley has been a soldier. He has given his life to the Black Cause.
After a commercial break for local traffic reports and the blue weather forecast, Tavis and his buddies reappeared on my tube television screen. Everyone was given an opportunity to articulate their response to this question: “Will Americans know who won the election by the end of the night?” Only David Gregory believes that the winner will be re-crowned or crowned tonight.
*Protestors in Birmingham, Alabama, were hit by a high-pressure water hose, NOT rain. All the wanted to do was vote.*

Tavis Smiley ended his stint on the Today Show with what I needed to hear and after coming to a complete stop in my Civil Rights Book of Images (picture above),

“It would be absolutely disappointing if the President loses this election as a result of a lackluster turnout from the black voting community. After acquiring their vote last election, many believe that the black vote is a guarantee today. A great number of black people are frustrated with the process, and with the results of President Obama’s presidency. And, as I look at the North America weather map the weather may be a self-induced barrier for black people. Nonetheless, there is not much of an excuse not to vote today.”

Then he was rudely interrupted by someone that has that F*ck You disposition,

Tavis Smiley is no James Farmer – but they have something in common on November 6, 2012. Both agree that gloomy weather, an F*ck You attitude and irresponsible ennui are illegitimate rationalizations for sitting at home while Americans cast ballots.
