This man needs that process that so many believe works. When I was in the Nation of Islam I prayed because it was something I was told I had to do to 'honor the faith'. I prayed as a Christian because I was told if I did not I would go to hell. Well, today if I select to pray - it is because I have exhausted all other options to address my issue. A new concept: Seek solution first then pray? The only solution that will work in this case is PRAYER for President Barack Obama considering most of us (black people) refuse to properly load-up. Get to it, Praying Warriors!
These guys had the RIGHT idea:

Well at least you some how think that prayer works! Many of us are praying, OBAMA has to take his veil off and begin to also pray! When everyone is on one accord, prayer does change things!

KH - the only reason prayer works is because you believe it does. What you believe about Christianity is not absolute. You believe by faith. It is a big difference. Pray for the Congo women getting rape just because they are of a different tribe. I and THOUSANDS have been praying for them for YEARS. No change. Where is your God...? Not in the Congo?

We all need a higher power to look to once we leave our loving homes...just having faith in something good/positive makes it a lot easier to get through my day. There is so much ugle out there. What higher power are you looking towards?

A few of my favorite quotes from Kahlil Gibran concerning prayer & religion:
What is prayer but the expansion of your self into the living ether? … God listens not to your words save when He Himself utters them through your lips
Is not religion all deeds and all reflection? … Who can separate his faith from his actions, or his belief from his occupations?... See More
And if you would know God be not therefore a solver of riddles. Rather look about you and you shall see Him playing with your children. And look into space; you shall see Him walking in the cloud, outstretching His arms in the lightning and descending in rain. You shall see Him smiling in flowers, then rising and waving His hands in trees.

PL - God created me to be my God. He created me to be my faith. My all in all. God wants me to seek
me - then Him. So, I am my POWER.

Missing ur input! Thanks! Good quotes! The last one is all about imagination. God is a figment of our imaginations. We make Him what He is. The last sentence is the premise of a chapter in my book. I have t-shirt with God is a Figment of Your Imagination. I get looks - but they are looks of wow, that made me think...

"God created me to be my God. He created me to be my faith. My all in all. God wants me to seek me - then Him. So, I am my POWER."
Back this up with scripture?

Muata responds to KH:
Biblical scripture? Are you serious? You want me to use the bible as my support? The bible is the weakest source to use. It is a relic full of contradiction. I can reference scripture to you at this moment that will leave you with: 'No. Not my God.' Your God, Kimberly, via the bible is a maniac. I pyschopath...I can tear down scripture ... See Morewith theology. Which is nothing more than a process of thinking, and not leaning on the words that are NOT inspired by God. If God inspired these words we call scripture He is an evil sadistic creature.

KH responds to Muata:
I am sure you know the Bible is not in it's entirety. If you are such a scholar, you know the true bible is the Torra and therefore you also know that many pieces are missing. .There is nothing contadictory about the word. If you have any type of discernment GOD reveals the answers. Tear down scripture all you want, your soul is on the line.

Muata responds to KH:
KH- Come on now. I am a seminarian. I learned a little something about that incomplete book. "God reveals the answers..." That is because YOU BELIEVE THAT. What you are saying is subjective. Cannot be quantified/qualified by science/mathmatics. Not even with reason and/or common sense. No offense.
