When I listened to him talk about Gabourey Sidibe as if she was an ‘it’. A non human without feeling - I was reminded at that very moment that he was doing what he was suppose to do as a Shock Jock. Therefore, I pulled myself together – and decided not to condemn him. Why should I? The man makes his money off making outlandish comments. It is his job. There is a need for him in this world. If there wasn’t, he would not be employed and he definitely would not have millions of listeners. Now, that I am ‘together’ I have the ability to highlight the more important issue:
Gabourey Sidibe is Among the Walking Dead, The Obese
If you are sensitive DON’T LISTEN:

Plain and Simple:
This young lady (Gabourey) is walking death. She needs to lose weight. I guess now I am ‘mean’? I typed that with blunt concern.
Guess I am in my glass house at this moment considering I just FORCED myself to go workout. Lord Knows I did not want to…
Howard is such the Shock Jock. Wow! I hope Gabourey will not 'settle' for obesity. She appears to have such a nice personality. Funny, I have been to a Pacific Island country (Tonga) where big is beauty. It just ain't healthy!

She is huge. No other way to say it. Howard Stern sucks and might have been cruel. However she is not healthy no matter hwo you slice it.

If they really cared about this young lady, they'd be trying to help her slim down. She's in a dangerous way and that's not to be celebrated.

I agree with the fact that we need to challenge the obesity issues, but we tend to forget it's a mental health issue much more than it's just "get off your ass" issue.
I think I'm more offended that you made me listen to Howard Stern. He's a prick that gains noteriety for being offensive, cruel, and 'shocking' for entertainment. Just because it's funny doesn't make it any less cruel. I hate that shit.

I am holding out faith that someone in H-wood will take her under their wing. Part of this 'care/guidance' needs to be getting her with a good nutritionist and fitness trainer.

Muata responds again:
We have someone on this thread who has reminded me that her weight is/can be a mental health issue...Okay fine. I understand that many have psychological issues. We live in America. We all should be crazy! ESPECIALLY BLACK PEOPLE. With that in the forefront, I am sick and tired of "mental health issues" being the go to reason for ALL our issues. We need to get back to the basics: Identify that there is an issue, do something about it, and overcome. We have COUNTLESS examples of those who did this without another prescribed medication. We have to have some balance here.

SN responds to Muata:
I did NOT point out that obesity is a mental health issue to excuse it. Just because alcoholism is a disease doesn't mean that one doesn't have choices to make changes. I point that out because it's important to recognize that telling someone to "stop eating and exercise" really doesn't do much good. We have to change how we address obesity issues if we are going to make any changes. And lord knows we need it.

Hell, we are all the "walking dead." Granted some may get there sooner than others but we are all headed in the same direction, on the same path of death. I'm sure the link is crude in true HS fashion, so I chose not to listen to it. And I agree with that Ms. Gabourey is overweight and unhealthy but must this be a topic of discussion - we all agree that she is overweight and in need of help, let's just hope that someone in her circle of friends, since it has widened considerbly of late, will help her in her journey. And let's remember that you don't have to be overweight to be unhealthy, I know plenty of slim and skinny folks that are unhealthy too.
